Journal Prompts to Help You Move On
Choosing to journal is a super effective way to let go and move on. Journaling is an amazing way to let your feelings out, and have a self-reflecting moment with yourself. Whether it’s after a break up, a loss or just a rough day, journaling is an amazing way to let loose of your emotions that you might even be too afraid to write on paper. Allowing your brain to express the way you feel reduces stress, and improves self awareness. Which, in turn, helps you MOVE ON. I challenge you to write these 7 things that I found in your journal to help you move on.
What Happened?
What was the event you feel the need to move on from? Tell the story as if you were telling it to a friend, from beginning to end.
How do you feel now?
What did this (being cheated on, experiencing a death, your bestie talking sh*t about you) make you feel when it happened, and how have your feelings changed as of now?
Who was involved? Describe them.
Who’s the boy? Was he nice? Was he charismatic, handsome, manipulative? Who did you lose? Who did you wrong?
What resulted from it?
Are you drinking to cope? Are you lonely? Are you pushing people away or are you thriving and happier than ever?
In a perfect world, how would things be different?
In a perfect world, do you belong together? Are you your best self with this person? Would you do anything to have your loved one back?
Why is it hard for you to move on?
Are you in love? Is this your first love? Are you shocked?
I chose to take a week and write about one per night, some of these things might be hard to write about, but facing the issue is essential for moving on! For more: check out @mariahrose.co on Instagram and Pinterest!
